Privacy
The short version
- This page collects a parent's or grandparent's email address only, and only if you join the parent list.
- We do not ask for, and do not want, your child's name, age, school or anything else about them on this site.
- Nothing is sold here and nothing is charged. The price buttons are questions, not transactions.
- The tutor itself is still in design. When a version exists that a child can use, it will have its own notice, and no child will use it without verifiable parental consent.
What we collect on this site
- If you join the parent list: your email address, which list you joined, any price button you tapped (for example "would pay $19 a month" or "would want a human tutor instead"), the exact consent wording you agreed to, and when.
- Where you found us: the page you first arrived on, the site that referred you, and any campaign tags in the link (for example
utm_source). Your browser remembers your first visit locally so we can tell, for example, that you came from a parents' group rather than a search. We also note how many of the page's small discoveries you had found, and your approximate country and region from our network edge. - Visit analytics: we measure visits using our own analytics service, hosted on DigitalOcean. It records page paths, referring sites, campaign tags, performance and selected interactions (such as which example you viewed), without form contents, cookies or person profiles. A random identifier lasts for the browser tab session. Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track switches analytics off. We do not sell this information or share it with advertisers.
- The "Try an example" tool is a scripted illustration. Your grade and subject choices are not stored.
What we do with it
We use your email only to send what you signed up for: early access for one family when there is something to try, and occasional updates from Launchpad Learning. We do not sell or rent your information. We use processors to run the site (DigitalOcean for hosting and our own analytics service, Cloudflare for the sign-up service) under their own privacy terms.
Children
This website is for parents and grandparents. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 here. The product we are designing is for children, so these commitments are part of its design rather than an afterthought:
- Verifiable parental consent, as the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) requires, before any child uses it.
- Voice recordings of children are not stored by default. The tutor can listen and respond without keeping the audio.
- Only what the tutoring needs is kept, for only as long as it is useful, and parents can see, export and delete all of it.
- Parents can read what was discussed. There are no private conversations with a child.
If you believe a child has given us information through this website, write to the address below and we will delete it.
Your choices
Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe. You can also ask us to see, correct or delete what we hold about you by writing to accounts@idea-engine.com. California residents have the rights described in the CCPA/CPRA, and we honor them for everyone.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the date above.
